Located on a wooded slope at the edge of the Rockfish Valley, this Blue Ridge Mountain retreat is the 3rd permutation in a series of places that aspire to a modern “Appalachian Vernacular”.  In this case, the building program centers on comfortable accommodation of a small family or two couples, mainly for short-term immersions in the quietude of the landscape.  The building form follows the land and is both embedded and lightly touching down.
